The 20-Minute-a-Day Visibility Plan for Busy Artists

ree

Is it difficult to find time to market your art?

Between studio time, shows, and everyday life, the thought of “promoting yourself” often gets pushed to the bottom of the list.

Building visibility doesn’t have to take hours. What matters most is consistency. This 20-minute-a-day plan is designed for artists who want to keep their work in front of the right people without getting overwhelmed.

Create Momentum

Setting aside just 20 minutes a day can create momentum while keeping you focused. Small, consistent steps add up, and they’re more sustainable than occasional bursts of marketing followed by burnout.

Use this 20-minute plan to consistently boost your visibility.

The 20-Minute Visibility Plan

1. Spend 5 Minutes Sharing Your Work

Visibility starts with showing up. Each day, share one image of your work somewhere on social media, such as a finished piece, a work in progress, or even a simple studio snapshot. The goal is not perfection, but presence.

2. Spend 5 Minutes Engaging with Your Audience

Posting alone isn’t enough. The second part of your plan is to respond to comments, reply to a DM, or leave a thoughtful comment on another artist’s or gallery’s page. This builds relationships and helps people remember you as more than just another post in their feed.

3. Spend 5 Minutes on Outreach or PR

This is where visibility grows beyond your current circle. Each day, take one small step in outreach: send a follow-up email, pitch a story idea to a local publication, or add a name to your contact list. Over time, these actions open doors to new opportunities.

4. Spend 5 Minutes on Marketing Maintenance

Finally, take a few minutes to keep your systems up to date. Update your website with a new image or create a rough outline for your next newsletter.  This keeps your foundation strong and prevents “I’ll get to it later” from piling up.

A Weekly Rhythm

If you like structure, you can assign each day a focus:

  • Monday - Social post

  • Tuesday - Email outreach

  • Wednesday - Audience engagement

  • Thursday - Website, blog, or shop update

  • Friday - Review and plan for next week.

With this plan, you’re still only spending 20 minutes, but you concentrate your efforts across all the key areas of visibility.  By doing each of these regularly, you will improve your efficiency and eventually be able to accomplish more within this time frame.

Pitfalls to Avoid

  • Don’t overcomplicate things (20 minutes can’t turn into 2 hours of editing a reel).

  • Don’t skip because “20 minutes isn’t enough.” The habit matters more than the scale.

  • Don’t try to do everything at once. Pick one action per category and repeat.

Visibility is built step by step.

You don’t need endless hours, expensive ads, or a marketing degree to grow your audience. You need consistency, and 20 minutes a day is enough to maintain the momentum.
