Desk Notes: February 2026

A snapshot of current projects, systems, and tools in use

February has been the new January. I’ve spent time cleaning up systems, trimming the excess, getting routines back on track, and getting honest about where the time is actually going.

This Month's Focus

  • Patterns of Meaning remains a major focus. I've been executing across social, reporting, and communications, and am currently building a content library to support long-term posting consistency.

  • Another project for POM is building a LinkedIn page, as this will be a key part of strengthening relationships across the manufacturing, education, and workforce development sectors.  I’ll share it when it's ready for public viewing.

  • A bonus came in a full analysis of where my time was going, because I'd been stuck in that "where is all the time going" spiral. This led to real changes in how I organize tasks and projects.

What's Actively in Motion

  • Website maintenance and updates for the Arkansas Pastel Society has been a nice addition to my project list.

  • Work with Robert Yonke Art included assisting with written artwork descriptions for an institutional healthcare installation.

  • It was gratifying to help a client get their first email out the door with MailerLite. From setup to send.

  • Practice is underway for a presentation I’m giving on February 24 for the Visual Arts of Prosper: Beyond the Booth: Building Visibility Before, During & After the Event. This one is all about helping artists think beyond the day-of and build marketing systems around their show schedule.

Tools, Systems, & Other Fun Things

  • The great digital cleanup. Reducing my Dropbox storage, eliminating unused files, and cutting subscriptions I didn't need were bonuses from end-of-year tax prep.  It's not inspiring work, but it freed up mental space and actual money.

  • Implementing MailerLite for another client reinforced why I continue to recommend it. The platform supports thoughtful segmentation, automation, and clean design without introducing unnecessary complexity.

Affiliate Disclosure: MailerLite is the email platform I use and install for clients. If you sign up through my link, I may receive a small affiliate commission. I share it because I genuinely believe it’s one of the best-balanced email systems available for artists and small organizations.
